Overview of Position

The Debt Origination Associate is a is a business development role with a primary purpose to proactively grow and retain business from property owners, developers and investors seeking debt and equity financing.

The Associate will work closely with senior members of the R2 team who are industry leaders in commercial real estate debt capital industry. The position entails working with a diverse group of internal and external Stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and the successful candidate will require the independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the business development by contacting new potential clients through phone and email regarding commercial mortgage refinancing opportunities.
  • Identify, qualify, sort, and track leads for commercial mortgages.
  • Ensures mortgage renewals are acted upon according to timelines and renewal dates.
  • Aggressive, energetic self-starter who enjoys working in a quota-driven environment
  • Exceptional cold-call prospecting using consultative phone skills, including the ability to clearly articulate, inspire, project confidence, influence, overcome objections, and remain resilient throughout
  • Research and document relevant contact information for existing leads/keeping contact information updated.
  • Utilize the CRM to ensure activities are documented properly, opportunities are forecasted accurately and adequate information regarding the prospect and/or opportunity is communicated.
  • Maintain knowledge of market conditions and competitive activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years commercial real estate financing experience, in a client facing capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Mortgages is required.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work
  • Financial Services License or Eligibility to complete EMD Examination
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
