Zibi is a massive 37 acre development project headed by Windmill Development Group and Dream Unlimited Corp. The site hosted a former Domtar paper mill which had shut down in 2005 and is the current site of Chaudière Falls which is a hydroelectric dam. The site will feature a mix of new construction and repurposing of older more stable buildings. The site has been called a world-class sustainable community and a green urban environment. This is characteristic of Windmill Developments who has previously received LEED Platinum status for its ‘The Eddy’ condominium development in Ottawa’s Hintonburg neighborhood and their ‘Cathedral Hill’ condominiums located in Ottawa’s downtown core which also received LEED Platinum status.
